Konbanwa from Ishinomaki, Japan!
I only have a few big events to report on this week so lets begin!
Last week we tried visiting a less active we havent ever met before but she lives way far away, probably like an hour by bike. And it was HOT. We started our journey but didnt get very far when we realized we had no idea where we were going. The map we have isnt very detailed and our GPS on our phone wasnt working correctly so we decided to turn around and go visit a potential investigator. Well as we were riding our bikes we passed this tiny little apartment complex that was on the side of the road that was so easy to miss but as we road by, I looked at it and felt the tiniest of tiny feelings to stop and knock on the 4 doors in the complex. I told my companions and we turned around and did some old fashioned housing! On the last door we knocked on (which was the door I initially looked at as we were riding by) a young 19 year old opened the door and she didnt reject us! We were able to talk to her a little about her life and we also shared a message about God! Her name was Ishimori Yuki (Ishimori is her family name, Yuki is her first). She wasnt that interested herself in the message but she said her mom was really into this kind of stuff and she said we could visit again another day. How great is that! We are going to visit again this week. But I have never really had an experience like that before where I felt prompted by the spirit to stop somewhere or talk to someone. It went down a lot different than I expected though. The feeling I felt was so so so so so soooo tiny I cant believe I even noticed it. It was basically nothing and it didnt feel really all that spiritual but whatever it was was from God!
We have been volunteering at a Kids Center a lot lately playing with the little children and also helping out the staff with the different activities they put on. We met a 14 year old girl named Ami and she is just the cutest ever! We are pretty much already best friends ha but we got her phone number and hopefully we can go eat lunch or dinner together sometime then meet her family and get ourselves some new investigators! Pray for Ami!
We taught Ryotaro kun again this week! This time we taught him the Plan of Salvation. It went pretty good I think. He seems to understand everything we say, but I dont think he gets it spiritually yet. That will take time though for sure. We received information at our last zone training meeting that we have to pass all our boy investigators to the elders though. So you can put our investigator count at ZERO after this week. Bummer... but we have plans to work so dang hard this week to get like 4 new investigators. We have lots of good relationships with people and lots of potentials so now this week we are just gonna try and start teaching them! Plus its the last week of the transfer and one of us will be transferring so we really want to give it our all.
On Sunday I received the best surprise ever! I was sitting in relief society when all of a sudden the door opened and in walks Takahashi Shimai from Aizu! My first area! I was so surprised I didnt even know what to say. She said she came by herself but then after relief society Maria Shimai (the girl you are friends with on facebook, mom) comes running in and she hugged me so good and we started crying. Then her two little boys came running in yelling "Roba chan! Roba chan!" and hugging my legs. I was the happiest I have ever been ever! Then I was able to see Takahashi Kyodai and Seito kun (one of the kids). That family seriously helped me so much in Aizu. I was so sad and unhappy there, but they loved me and cared for me and I made it through! Best surprise ever.
So this week I got a ton of emails for people telling me to go back to ISU for college so it is looking like that will be what I do probably. I sent you an email about my scholarships so you should look at that. I guess what I need you to do then is make sure ISU didnt change any of their requirements and also find out when the application date is so I can get into the dietetics program. Sweet, thanks!
Yes I did know about Canepari Choros mom. It really is so sad. And also I knew about Rio! I am glad she saw Sister Morgans fam. Oh speaking of Sister Morgan, I saw her this week at our big softball game! Ishinomaki won by the way because I played a stunning 2nd base ;) And Hill Choro got his hair cut and I dont have a pic of the bangs, sorry! Does Lita Shimai know what the gender of her baby is yet? I knew she was preggo already but I dont know the gender! Oh here is an update on Sister Alcazars dad... he had surgery recently and it went great! Now he is home recovering. Thank you for all your fasting and prayers for her dad. Looks like everything will be okay.
I dont think I need anything from America really... so you dont need to use all your money on me to send me a package! Its all good!
Love you all so much! The gospel is true!
Love Miranda
